Running out of food and beverage
This is a common issue that countless caterers have encountered before. Conversely, so is its opposite: having way too much food at the event. Solving this is simple, but it takes some wisdom and preparation. That’s why you should always go for a caterer that is well regarded in the catering industry; they understand what to expect on any given event, and they will be able to figure out just the right amount of food and beverage to allocate.
There’s a lot of planning that goes into making sure your ideas for your event are realized; the last thing you want is a logistical nightmare. That’s why good communication between you and the caterer must always be clear and transparent. If you have any questions or concerns, no matter how little or insignificant you think they may be—ask and clarify anyway. Always err on the side of caution.
Not knowing your guests’ preference
The food that you’re serving will be for your guests, so taking their preferences into consideration must be a top priority. And yet you’ll be surprised how little consideration this gets in the planning process. You have to consider, for example, the dietary restrictions that some of your guests might have. At the very least, there have to be options that most everyone would like, from hors d’oeuvres and main dishes to desserts and beverages. Are there Halal-certified and lactose-free options on the menu? What about vegan and vegetarian? And do you also have options for the health-conscious?
